Kathleen Dare

Kathleen is a Senior Associate in Quinn & Scattini Lawyers’ Family & De Facto Law Team.

Kathleen is an experienced in family lawyer and accredited family law mediator. Kathleen has over 15 years’ experience in family law and previously managed her own law practice for over 9 years.

Kathleen is experienced in assisting clients with a range of family law matters including divorce, property settlement and children’s issues and takes pride in her ability to assist clients to achieve the best possible outcome during what is often a difficult period in their lives.

When differences between parties cannot be resolved and mediation is required, Kathleen firmly sets out her client’s case and strongly defends her client’s position throughout negotiations.

In the event mediation fails and court is unavoidable, Kathleen is experienced in court representation, having successfully represented clients in the Federal Circuit Court of Australia and Family Court of Australia.

Kathleen is a strong advocate for justice and has worked in various roles with community legal centres advising on tenant law, migration law and disability law and held various committee positions including the Welfare Rights Centre, Refugee Advice and Immigration Legal Service and Multicultural Centre for Mental Health & Wellbeing.

Kathleen has also served as a legal member on the Guardianship & Administration Tribunal and Mental Health Review Tribunal. Kathleen has also volunteered with the Women’s Legal Service.

Committed to education, Kathleen has held academic positions at the College of Law and Queensland University of Technology and contributed a number of legal publications for conferences, law handbooks and organisations such as Legal Aid Queensland and the Queensland Law Society.
